FaTimah is praised by a charge nurse

FaTimah received a shout-out from her charge nurse!

The charge nurse said, “FaTimah went above and beyond the call of duty not only for her patients but for mine as well. I was a charge nurse in full assignment, with little support staff. I managed to pass my medication and complete an assessment of a patient, but then the unit got inundated with admissions. Without asking for help, FaTimah swooped in, took over some of the tasks patients needed and responded to my patients’ requests. With a heart of compassion, she acted without me even knowing. She alleviated many responsibilities which would have drowned me during the busy night. She allowed me to be as free as possible to help the rest of the unit while still tending to my patients. She is the definition of amazing and deserves to be recognized as such!”

High praise for a quality nurse! FaTimah, your team appreciates you, and so do we!

Austin is nominated for a DAISY Award

A patient nominated Austin for a DAISY Award for finding solutions and adjusting to challenges surrounding a life-changing surgery.

The patient said, “During an unexpected complication, I had a trache placed. beforehand, Austin helped me manage my fears and pain from a collapsed lung. Each day we met something new, and his interventions made the situation more manageable. While I couldn’t speak, he brought me paper so I could communicate. He set me up for my hygiene and helped me maintain a comfortable environment throughout my stay. He was very informative, and his patience and teaching were so beneficial. I was so afraid, but Austin reassuringly made me feel confident in returning home. I have used the tools he taught me during my recovery. I’m still living with the trache and getting stronger each day. Having gone through this life-changing event, I can honestly say Austin’s impact on me was meaningful. I’ve been through surgeries and hospitalizations before, but never had an impression like the one Austin made. I will forever be grateful for the care I received. He gave me confidence when I thought my life was standing still.”

Austin’s managers added, “Austin goes above and beyond. He’s the best nurse we’ve ever had. It will be our loss when he leaves!”

Congratulations, Austin! Your patients appreciate your attention to detail and care. Keep up the great work!

Jason receives a DAISY Award

Jason received a DAISY Award for his exceptional patient care.

One patient’s family member wrote, “Everyone we encountered during my mother’s hospital stay was exceptional, but some team members stood out above the others. Jason took time out of his busy schedule to talk with me about my mom, her wishes and her life and always ensured I was cared for. He never left the floor without seeing if I needed food, something to drink or a walk. My mom was in bad shape, so I stayed the night. The following morning, I tried to get some sleep, but couldn’t. By the end of the day, I was completely exhausted to the point that I was unsure about even driving home. I told Jason I was leaving and would return in the morning. The next day, I could tell someone had stayed the night in my mom’s room. I learned Jason stayed all night with her and never left her side. He truly went above and beyond and his actions have touched me and my family.”

Congratulations on the DAISY Award, Jason! Keep up the good work!

Dennis receives a DAISY Award

Dennis received a DAISY Award! He received many DAISY Award nominations for his impact on patients and staff alike.

One patient shared, “Dennis greeted me as soon as I arrived. He helped me transfer to my bed and ensured everything was set up properly. He warmly and joyfully introduced himself and made me feel relaxed after my injury and surgery prep. He reviewed my care plan and answered my concerns. For anyone who has stayed at a hospital and felt humiliated during a restroom visit, that was not the case with Dennis. He made the situation feel normal and even a little humorous. He didn’t stop there; he took it to another level, getting me a warm washcloth and making me feel clean and refreshed. My family members spent a lot of time with me, and I often mentioned things I wanted or needed, but before they could get anything for me, Dennis would come in with whatever I needed. I wondered if it was just me he treated this way, but oh, no. My family said they noticed he was this way with all his patients. When we asked him questions, he never said, ‘I don’t know.’ Instead, he said, ‘Let me find out and get back to you.” And he did. Every single time. He would straighten things up whenever I was out of bed, which always meant a lot, and whenever he walked by a room he would pop his head in and ask in a cheerful voice if there was anything he could do. You could feel his compassion for his patients and dedication to his profession.”

One of Dennis’ team members added, “Dennis received multiple DAISY Award nominations every month. He truly made a difference at this facility and in the lives of his patients.”

Congratulations on the well-deserved award, Dennis! Your quality care and dedication to your profession make a difference for your patients and team members.

Danielle receives a Mercy Touch Award

Danielle received the Mercy Touch Award for her exceptional patient care!

One of Danielle’s patients shared, “Danielle is incredible. During my stay, I broke down and cried to her about losing my partner. We talked about our experiences and connected on another level. After talking, she made sure I knew she would always be there if I needed to talk. For the rest of my stay, Danielle popped into my room to check on me and ask how I was doing or if I needed anything (even if I had not pushed the call button). Whether it was a coffee, Jello or just someone to chat with, she always had a big smile on her face. My stay was difficult because no one had come to see me due to work and my partner’s passing, but Danielle made my days better and truly made a difference in my life. I feel like I made a friend in Danielle, and I could not be more grateful for everything she has done.”

Congratulations, Danielle! Your team is so proud of you. Keep up the great work!
